Thanksgiving 2010

26 11 2010

The first major holiday the Lacanilao legion celebrated in a different country was the American holiday of Thanksgiving.  Staying away from Facebook as much as possible as not to salivate over the many updates of friends enjoying their festive food holiday, we were able to celebrate 16 hours earlier than those on the western hemisphere.  Saddled with our parents and the great grandfather of our two girls, we headed over to the restaurant that we can most closely associate with American gluttony here in the Philippines… a Mexican food restaurant called Mooon.  Nachos, chimichangas, coolers (virgin mind you), and pochero all served by a Filipino waitress, dressed in a white, red, and green skirt, in a Chinese owned restaurant, celebrating an American holiday.  Here’s to celebrating the land of the free!  Happy thanksgiving to everyone!!!  Hope it was a great and blessed time!!
